Goal of the Climate Solutions Biodiversity Trail
1. Awareness Building and Integration of Climate Solution
The trail is designed to raise awareness about the significance of biodiversity and demonstrate how it can serve as a natural solution to climate challenges, complementing other campus climate initiatives like solar energy projects and "Climate Stairs."It highlights the effectiveness of existing building projects and emphasizes that biodiversity often gets overlooked in discussions about environmental solutions.
3. Encouraging Critical Thinking and Perspective Shift
The trail aims not only to inform, but also to provoke thought and give visitors a new perspective by showing that many solutions to environmental problems already exist in nature.
It emphasises the importance of non-academic learning environments and encourages thinking beyond the academic context, seeing nature as a teacher.
2. Demonstration of the symbiosis between fauna and flora
The trail demonstrates how animal and plant life interact in a natural symbiosis to promote ecological balance, serving as a direct example of how integrated ecosystems function without human intervention.
This symbiosis aims to inspire visitors to recognise and value the often overlooked but effective ways in which nature solves problems.
